1. How long is the turnaround time for an order?
The turnaround time is depending on the specifications of your printing order. Our production time is generally 3-8 business days, usually within 4 business days. Orders with post-press finishing such as membrane coating, binding, paperhanging, die cutting, bronzing, etc generally take more than 4 business days. However, urgent service of long-term customers is free of charge.
2. What is to be prepared for pre-press step?
As the printing market is now flourishing with divisions of printing specialized, you can easily find a professional company with excellent pre-press service for complete set of films and proofs that we suggest you to supply to the printing factory, in order to ensure the turnaround time and save your expense.
3. How to get the originals ready?
If you don’t have extra time for the film and proof, please come to Chinee Printing. We will help you with the whole before-printing procedure.
Please pay attention to the following points with your document, which will save your precious time.
1.Please confirm all the files especially the graphic ones included in your document in case of images unable to display or with low resolution. Therefore, make sure that necessary images with high resolution are in the document. (The picture resolution is no lower than 280 dips)
2. Don't forget to supply us the fonts needed by copying them. If not, film can’t be output even if the fonts are displayed.
3. Convert the color of the linked pictures from RGB to CMYK; otherwise the film produced will present confusion of color.
4. Check the accuracy of the color when pantone spot colors are converted to CMYK. Slight differences generally exist after the operation. Although some of the pantone colors convert well to CMYK, process Pantone Colors can’t definitely. Therefore, the method of increasing spot colors should be applied to solve the problem.
5. Double scanning of the picture with one time output can improve the scanning quality of the picture.
6. Whether the typeset files have set 3mm bleeding can also get some experienced computer experts in trouble. Please specify that color-setting of the typeset software is correct as the indicated one.
7. A contact proof from the film is the most helpful file for the printing factory. If you can’t supply the proof for some reasons, make sure to provide at least one printing copy. ( Color best, if not , black and white is also all right)
4. What is the color differences among the film, proof, presswork and computer display?
Being the most similar to the final presswork, a contact proof from the film is the best choice to verify that the film is correct, thus reducing the possible errors ant to save time of both of us. The computer display is much brighter than the printed products, which makes it unsuitable to verify.
. This is because color forming is different from computer monitor to color printings. The colors defined by the computer are sent to the monitor using the three primary colors: red, green and blue that is called RGB and has been widely applied to computer and TV monitors.
. While in the color printing, CMYK color space (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and K for Black) is used to reproduce the range of colors in a photograph or ink shade. The CMYK is also widely applied to four-color offset printing technology.
. The other reason causing the color difference between computer display and presswork is that computer monitors have a standard set of colors. It is necessary to invite technicians to adjust the right colors in the computer display; otherwise great color difference will exist.
. Different printing material can also make different printing effects. Generally speaking, the printing effect of the copperplate paper is more vivid and brighter than that of the offset paper .
The preparation work mentioned above will help to reduce any problem, accelerate the delivery and avoid increasing cost.

5. How is the printing quotation worked out?

The process of printing can be divided into three stages: Pre-press Period, Printing Period and Post-press Period.
Pre-press Period:
The process flow to finish film and proof is counted by per P, with the usual price standard based on A4 size (if insufficient to or larger than A4 like A3, it needs to be measured out accurately for pricing). Film is the necessity of printing, and proof is the basic file to color-check.
Press Period:
This period is the key link of finishing the printing, and the pricing standard is color ream. If spot colors such as a Logo of an enterprise or gold, silver tooling are included, please note it, and the color will be increased from 4 colors to 5 or 6 colors.
Post-press Period:
This period is finishing step of the presswork. Please specify bindery techniques you request, saddle stitch, glue or foldout (How much roll over), along with the finishing techniques you choose such as membrane-coating, UV-covering, die cutting, bronzing, sagging acreage and special wrapping and packing requirements.
